About Our Group
Welcome to Moose Historical Fencing. Started in 2022, our club focuses on training in German longsword and the teachings of Johannes Liechtenauer, a sword master in the late Middle Ages. Using texts from the 15th and early 16th centuries, written in Early New High German, we aim to learn how the art of sword fighting was done in the Middle Ages, and how we too can train these skills.
We take what we do seriously, understanding this as a martial art that was historically used and respected. We dive in, we train hard, and we have a great time-- because, honestly, sword fighting is a lot of fun.
Thanks for checking us out, and please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have.

Mooscot
Perhaps our most important member, Mooscot is our moose mascot. The club has many myths and stories about his origins and mysterious ways, but one thing that is certain is that Mooscot is adored by all in our club.
